PARTNERS IN HEALTH FAMILY COUNCIL: The Central NH VNA & Hospice Partners in Health (PIH) Family Council is a group of parents with children experiencing the impacts of chronic illness and disabilities.
The Family Council oversees the Partners in Health program. The council identifies community gaps in services and supports, and works to improve them. The Family Council acts as a voice for all the families in Partners in Health, and in the community for those who have children or adolescents with chronic health conditions. The council works to help develop community resources and to empower families to advocate and manage the needs of their children. The group meets at Central NH VNA & Hospice, 780 North Main Street, Laconia. For more information, please call Katie Gauch, PIH Family Support Coordinator, at 524-8444.
HOSPICE
HOSPICE VOLUNTEER TRAINING
HOSPICE VOLUNTEER TRAINING: Hospice is a special kind of caring for people of all ages who are living with life-threatening illness. Becoming a Hospice volunteer requires 21-28 hours of this training. It includes discussion of death & dying, exploring spirituality, the role of the hospice staff, palliative care, interacting with the hospice family, and the art of listening. Hospice volunteers work with the Central NH VNA & Hospice team to provide care, comfort, and support to persons at the end of life and to their families and caregivers. For more information on the next Hospice volunteer training session and other volunteer opportunities, contact Pam Littlefield, Central NH VNA & Hospice Volunteer Coordinator at 524-8444
